Went bali recently… Heard so much bout it yet haven’t been to it. Now it’s my turn to explore the island famous for honeymoon. Our flight scheduled on 13/03/07 5 something. 8 of us can’t wait to get ourselves straight to bali…only to know that our flight has been delayed for 50 min (consider a normal scenario for Airasia) siennz…
ashley + me on our way to LCC airport
taking group pic while waiting to be boarded
Flight to bali take approximately 3 hours… can’t really sleep well with my excited mood + Airasia seat >_<
We arrived at Denpasar airport at bout 9pm FINALLY. Can’t wait to step my feet on bali ^_^ after picking up our baggages, we jogged our way out to the exit. Megah who is our guide already prepared a van to fetch us to our hotel at Kuta.
Upon arrived at Inna Kuta hotel, we discussed our schedule with Megah and decided to go for snorkelling + visit to Turtle island tomorrow.
We were so STARVING that we can eat a whole cow (sorry it’s a bit exaggarate hehe). After unloading our stuff in our room, we went out to kuta for food "hunting". Since it’s already 10 something night, ALL shops are closed except for some restaurants and convenience stores sigh sigh…
After much walking or shall i say dragging ourselves through kuta street, we finally settled our dinner/supper at Melasti cafe.
I ordered nasi campur which is a lil similiar to our nasi lemak.
We were invited on stage to dance with the singers at Melasti cafe. The singers incredibly can sing up to 5 languages of songs… even hokkien song phew….
We woke up early in the next morning to get ourselves prepare for snorkelling + turtle island tour at Tanjong Benoa.
Breakfast at Inna Kuta hotel is scrumptious with its breakfast buffet…
It was a rainy day at Kuta, Megah said the rain shall stop shortly. Unfortunately, it rained till late in the afternoon… sienzz
Anyway, we still went for it. Snorkelling is not recommended in Bali as i think our Redang and Tioman has much more to offer if were to compare.
From left agnes, selina me and ashley shivering on "glass" boat.
They cut a rectagle shape on the bottom of the boat and replace it by a glass so that you can see through it. Well nothing much to be seen as rainy day has make the sea blurry…
We then head to Turtle island after 40 minutes of snorkelling. Turtle island is actually just a place where people there breed turtles…and iguana and bat and even snake =_=" i wonder what kinda animal they won’t keep here.
iguana…
We were back in Kuta around 2 something. Hungrily searching for food again… we first stopped at one Bakso stall selling the very own indon Bakso which i think it’s absolutely delicious and unbelievable cheap!! less than RM2 can you believe it?!
We walked further down the street and saw another food stall… it’s like the indon version of our mamak.
ayam goreng lalapan…soooo yummy
We then walked back towards the hotel and decided to go for shopping in Kuta discovery mall before leaving for Ubud.
Ubud is a decent lil town located just 1 hour drive from Kuta. Honestly, i like Ubud more than Kuta. It’s not as noisy and commercialize as Kuta. Our hotel at Ubud is simply gorgeous with its exotic balinese style.
Bali Spirit Hotel@Ubud
During our stay in Ubud, we have tried out the Bebek bengil dirty duck and the ayam maliboro aka pressurized chicken recommended by forumers in cari.com. I personally would recommend the dirty duck as the duck is really cripsy and the atmosphere is damnnnn nice i tell ya… do go in evening time as you can enjoy their amazing padi field view. We unfortunately went in too late and it was too dark to capture any nice shot.
We went on to Tanah Lot on our 3rd day at Bali. The lengendary temple placed at/on the sea. It’s a well known tourist spot in Bali therefore LOTS of tourists around. Anyway, we did quite a lot of shopping over there so much so that it seems that we came here for shopping instead of visting the temple itself. *keke*
Massage and spa is a must try service in Bali. It’s super cheap and the environment is perfect for relaxation. We went for spa at Verona spa in Ubud. The spa that’s recommended by forumers as well. I took the javanese lulur spa package which only cost less than RM40. It normally cost at least double up the price for the same thing in KL. The spa room is half "open air" style. The wall that is facing the padi field is only at my waist length. So people can actually see you enjoying your spa and showering inside the spa room!!
Well i shall not review more bout Bali as for those of you who wanna know more bout it should go find out yourself. n_n It’s a great place to visit and i ensure you can shop till you drop and ready to moan for your bank account figure. >_<
